Troubleshoot

Hand Print

Hand print marks can be tricky to fix. Here is what you want to do.

Apply spray tan friendly lotion on the hand print area. Make sure to rub the lotion in and get a little around the outline. Make sure to fix it before you rinse the initial bronzer off, if you try to fix it after you rinsed it won't work (we can't fix it). Make sure you wipe your hands afterwards to avoid it staining your fingers/palm. For any questions make sure to reach out to us via TEXT!

Streaks

Let's say you have rinsed you tan but haven't used body wash yet. You wake up in the morning and now your tan looks streaky. Here is what is going on:

1. you did not rinse your tan off correctly

2. you still have bronzer left on your skin

3. you used a razor with a moisture strip

What you want to do is get back in the shower and rinse again using your hands to rub your skin and use body wash to remove any and all bronzer. If this did not fix the issues send us a text with a picture so we can best assist you.

Black dots on legs/chest

This is due to large pores. Unfortunately there is not much you can do to fix this once the tan is fully developed. What happened is the bronzer filled in the spots staining those pores and now they are super noticeable. You want to try a clear tan next time or you can simply try using body wash when you do your initial rinse to remove any excess bronzer off on those areas. But there is no simple fix.

Dry Skin

Your skin is dry. Here is the following reasons as to why your skin is doing that:

1.You need to lotion your skin using a spray tan friendly brand.

2. Your water temperature is to high, make it cooler.

3. Your not drinking enough water - internal hydration is key.

4. Lack of exfoliating

Water Drop

Water spots on your tan. It is okay it happens more often than what we like to admit.

Just make sure to fix it before you rinse, if you don't it will stay like that.

To fix: use your spray tan friendly lotion and rub the spot/area and rinse when your timer goes off. Make sure you wipe your fingers/ palm to avoid it getting stained.

Bandaids

This happens when you had any form of sticky band aids on or removed it prior to your tan. Any product with a adhesive back will do this to your tan even if you didn't have a band aid on for 3 days the sticky residue stays on for 2 weeks. There is nothing we can do to fix this. What you can do to avoid  in the future is to remove the residue with rubbing alcohol prior to your appointment

White Armpits

This happens when you use antiperspirant deodorant with aluminum or clinical strength deodorant. These ingredients in the deodorant can break down the DHA on the skin leaving you with white armpits. (this can happen too, if you use it the day of your tan and your armpits go green. Now keep in mind even wiping your armpits won't do anything it will still go green, you need to wash it with a makeup remover prior to getting tan)

Lines on hands

If you notice this before your rinse please rub lotion along the lines. If you already rinse you can try and exfoliate the area and see if it will lift color, rubbing alcohol can help too.

Old sun burn on face

This is due to a old sun burn or when you face got to much sun but hasn't fully healed (6 weeks). This can happen too if you use retinol based skincare. There is not much you can do to fix it. The only thing i can recommend is to exfoliate the skin to remove any spray tan.

White Spots | Dark Spots

From personal experience and what we have seen in 10 years this can more than likely be tinea versicolor. It's a skin fungus. It's is not contagious but it does stay on your skin unless you get it addressed. We do advice to consult with your dermatologist. Anti-fungal wash does help it. Using a dandruff shampoo is a great alternative, however it is not instant fix, you would need to use this for 2 weeks and more to not notice it any difference. Consult with your dermatologist. Please keep in mind this is not a tan issue but a skin issue :(

(these spots only show up when the skin gets color)

Stained Palms

NOOOO ! LOL

This is imposable to fix. There is no safe way to get this off your hands. Please do not touch your tan while it develops. It will stain your palms like crazy.

You can try the following:

*Toothpaste (rub it on the hands, let it sit for 5- 10 min the rinse and scrub)

*Rubbing alcohol (pour some on a cotton ball and rub it on your skin)

* Soak your hands in warm water (5- 10 min the scrub)

*Windex ( non safe way) - pour some on a cotton ball and rub it on your skin, continue rubbing until the tan is off. Make sure to wash your hands afterwards. Please be carful with this one, it is a chemical)

Tan is peeling (Sunburn)

This is 1000% a skin issue. A old sunburn takes 12 weeks to fully heal before you can tan. Now keep in mind just because you didn't peel doesn't mean you won't peel with s spray tan. YOU will 100% peel. There is nothing we can do to fix it/ Adding more DHA will only make it worse. Sally Hansen airbrush leg makeup is the only product you can use to high the peeling
